Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions we get asked around the subject of Emotional Intelligence.

 01  What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence is a set of  emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way. At LeverageEQ we measure 15 key EQ competencies, including assertiveness, stress tolerance and empathy.

02  How do you measure Emotional Intelligence?

At LeverageEQ we use the world's leading measurement tool for Emotional Intelligence, called the EQ-i 2.0. The assessment takes around 15-20 minutes to complete online and gives you an overall score for your Emotional Intelligence, as well as a breakdown in 15 key competency areas. The tool is a Level B psychometric which means that you have to be a qualified EQ-i practitioner in order to administer it.

03  Can you become more Emotionally Intelligent?

Yes, absolutely. The latest studies show that with effective training and coaching programmes, you can increase your EQ scores by up to 35%. This is due to the elasticity of the brain. However, it does take work and can be hard to do by ourselves which is why we recommend working with us!

04  Why does Emotional Intelligence matter so much?

The statistics show that Emotional Intelligence is strongly linked to overall performance, better relationships, lower stress and anxiety, increased overall wellbeing and happiness. Also, with the rise in AI replacing a lot of task-oriented jobs, the demand for these types of skills is expected to increase six fold over the next 5 years.

05  How can I develop my own Emotional Intelligence?

Get in touch with us and we can offer 1-2-1 coaching where we will look at where your Emotional Intelligence is currently and make a plan for improving in whichever specific areas you feel you want to focus on.
